Nick (owner) Nick began keeping fish at the age of 10 in Hastings, Michigan, where the only local source of fish was the local Woolworth's store. In order to continue with his hobby, his dad often took him to Grand Rapids, Battle Creek, or Kalamazoo, all 50 miles away, where he would spend hours hanging around the stores while waiting to be picked up. In those days a standard aquarium set up included a Metaframe aquarium and Dynaflo filter. That began a career of keeping angels, neons, oscars, and piranahs. More recently he has been interested in african cichlids. From that beginning, Nick has kept fish for 45 years with the exception of a 7 year period in the late 60's when fish keeping was impractical. When he returned to the hobby in 1972 much had changed. Most notably, the metal framed aquariums had been replaced by the all glass aquarium. His interest grew and when he started Aquarium Center he had a wall of 9 aquariums in his home. Nick opened Aquarium Center in 1991 with the goal of providing a full line of fish and supplies, the best service, and the most knowledgeable staff available. He is proud that all of Aquarium Center's staff are avid fish keepers with years of experience.

Craig Craig is nearly a lifelong hobbyist and Aquarium Center customer. With his mother, he first began with a 10 gallon community tank; since then, Craig has kept many species of community fish as well as both African and South American cichlids. He began working at Aquarium Center in Novembr 2005, and became interested in marine aquariums; he has kept marine fish and invertebrates since that time. He currently has a thriving 75 gallon reef tank. Craig's interest and knowledge has expanded greatly and he is now able to run all aspects of this store. He works as many hours as he can with his busy school and personal schedule. He also mainains a number of aquariums for customers around town. As a longtime employee and customer here, he is always happy to help other customers out with a variety of questions.

Stephanie Stephanie is both the youngest and newest member of our staff. She has always been interested in fish and small reptiles and has had various types of small creatures to care for since she was 9. She has displayed a fascination with many species of fish and would like to become even more knowledgeable with them. In her application she wrote: "Fish have always been amazing to me and as I become more independent I hope to have more experience with the many different and exotic types of fish." Since coming to work at Aquarium Center in October, 2007, she has become a vaulable member of our staff.
